The entity that reported me submitted the report more than 30 days after they took their action. Does that mean they should not have reported it to the NPDB?

Although the regulations say that reportable actions must be reported within 30 calendar days of the date an action was taken, a reporting entity must still report the action even if the report submission will be late. Late reporting does not constitute grounds for disputing a report. An entity's failure to report in a timely manner does not preclude the NPDB from collecting such a report beyond the 30-day time frame. Issues of timely reporting are handled through the NPDB compliance program.
